(1) When approaching and passing over a railroad-highway grade crossing, operators of motor track cars, speeders, or other on track equipment must remain in complete control of the equipment, be prepared to stop for vehicular or pedestrian traffic on the highway, stop if necessary to avoid an accident, and provide effective warning for vehicular or pedestrian traffic at the crossing.
(2) Railroad companies that allow persons other than railroad personnel on official railroad business to operate motor track cars, speeders, or other on track equipment on their track must ensure that the operators comply with subsection (1) of this section.
