Subject of Possible Rule Making: New WAC 388-533-1000 First steps child care.
Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 74.08.090, 74.09.800.
Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: The Medical Assistance Administration (MAA) is developing a program to care for the children of pregnant or postpartum women who are attending appointments for outpatient Medicare-covered services. The rules will describe the program, designate who is eligible, and who may authorize, provide and be reimbursed for these services. MAA is consulting with the Department of Health in developing this program.

Process for Developing New Rule: The department invites the interested public to review and provide input on the draft language of this rule. Draft material and information about how to participate are available from the department representative listed below.
