Title of Rule: WAC 180-82-135 Assignment waivers.
Purpose: To provide authority to grant waivers, on a case-by-case basis, from the provisions of WAC 180-82-105 through 180-82-130 on written application by a school district.
Statutory Authority for Adoption: RCW 28A.305.130.
Summary: This proposed new section is necessary to provide school district flexibility in assigning teachers into classroom situations.

WAC 180-82-135
Assignment waivers.
On a case-by-case
basis, the state board of education may waive the provisions of
WAC 180-82-105 through 180-82-130 upon written application by a
school district board of directors. The application shall detail
the rationale for the waiver request. The waiver may be granted
subject to any conditions and stipulations as the state board
determines.
