     Title of Rule and Other Identifying Information: WAC 246-919-600 Prescriptions.

NOTICE

     THIS RULE IS BEING PROPOSED UNDER AN EXPEDITED RULE-MAKING PROCESS THAT WILL ELIMINATE THE NEED FOR THE AGENCY TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARINGS, PREPARE A SMALL BUSINESS ECONOMIC IMPACT STATEMENT, OR PROVIDE RESPONSES TO THE CRITERIA FOR A SIGNIFICANT LEGISLATIVE RULE. IF YOU OBJECT TO THIS USE OF THE EXPEDITED RULE-MAKING PROCESS, YOU MUST EXPRESS YOUR OBJECTIONS IN WRITING AND THEY MUST BE SENT TO Beverly A.      Purpose of the Proposal and Its Anticipated Effects, Including Any Changes in Existing Rules: WAC 246-919-600 Prescriptions, is being proposed as an expedited repeal because it is duplicative of other rules and statutes by the Board of Pharmacy, WAC 246-887-045 Pharmacy -- Regulations implementing the Uniform Controlled Substances Act. This proposal to repeal will eliminate redundancy and will clarify the Board of Pharmacy's authority in the area of prescriptions.

     Reasons Supporting Proposal: Eliminating duplication will ensure that licensees will follow the most specific rules related to prescriptions.

     Statutory Authority for Adoption: RCW 18.71.017.

     Statute Being Implemented: Chapter 18.71 RCW.

     Rule is not necessitated by federal law, federal or state court decision.

REPEALER

     The following section of the Washington Administrative Code is repealed:
WAC 246-919-600 Prescriptions -- Schedule II stimulant drugs.
