SALARIES FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS

     Title of Rule and Other Identifying Information: WAC 183-01-020 Authority and duties, the existing rule reads: "The commission's authority and duties are described in Article 2, section 1 of the state constitution and in RCW 43.03.310." The reference to Article 2 is incorrect; it should read "Article 28, section 1 of the state constitution."

NOTICE

     THIS RULE IS BEING PROPOSED UNDER AN EXPEDITED RULE-MAKING PROCESS THAT WILL ELIMINATE THE NEED FOR THE AGENCY TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARINGS, PREPARE A SMALL BUSINESS ECONOMIC IMPACT STATEMENT, OR PROVIDE RESPONSES TO THE CRITERIA FOR A SIGNIFICANT LEGISLATIVE RULE. IF YOU OBJECT TO THIS USE OF THE EXPEDITED RULE-MAKING PROCESS, YOU MUST EXPRESS YOUR OBJECTIONS IN WRITING AND THEY MUST BE SENT TO Carol Sayer, Washington Citizens' Commission on Salaries for Elected Officials, P.O.      Purpose of the Proposal and Its Anticipated Effects, Including Any Changes in Existing Rules: The reference to Article 2, section 1 of the state constitution in WAC 183-01-020 is incorrect; the correct reference is Article 28, section 1. The rule will be changed to show the correct state constitution citation.

     Reasons Supporting Proposal: To correct an error.

     Statutory Authority for Adoption: RCW 43.03.300 through 43.03.310.

     Statute Being Implemented: RCW 43.03.310.

     Rule is not necessitated by federal law, federal or state court decision.

     Name of Proponent: Washington citizens' commission on salaries for elected officials, governmental.
