Subject of Possible Rule Making: Amending/repealing and reissuing the Clark College code of student conduct.

Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 28B.50.140(13).

Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: To clarify procedures, to align the code of student conduct with other college policies and procedures, and to make substantive changes to the code that will focus more on the educational outcomes of the disciplinary process, create a more student-friendly/easier-to-understand version of the code, and respond to new and different issues that have arisen since the last revision in 1997.

Other Federal and State Agencies that Regulate this Subject and the Process Coordinating the Rule with These Agencies: There are no other federal or state agencies that regulate this matter.

Process for Developing New Rule:      Agency study; and Clark College vetted these proposed rules with the Clark College community, including students, faculty, and staff.

Interested parties can participate in the decision to adopt the new rule and formulation of the proposed rule before publication by contacting Ted J.
