Subject: Medicaid state plan amendment (SPA) 11-02.
Effective Date: January 1, 2011.
Document Description: The department intends to submit an amendment to the Title XIX medicaid state plan to comply with the CMS state medicaid director letter (SMDL) #10-026, which provides guidance on implementing Section 6505 Prohibition on Payments to Institutions or Entities Located outside of the United States, of the Affordable Care Act of 2010. States are to submit SPAs to provide a statement of compliance with this prohibition on payments to any financial institution or entity located outside of the United States for any items or services provided under the state plan.
