PREPROPOSAL STATEMENT OF INQUIRY

Subject of Possible Rule Making: Repealing chapter 388-106 WAC, Long-term care services, Washington medicaid integration partnership (WMIP), WAC 388-106-0745 through 388-106-0765.
Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: RCW 74.08.090, 74.09.520.
Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: The department is repealing WAC 388-106-0745 through 388-106-0765, specifically the WMIP section, as this Snohomish County program will be ending June 30, 2014.
Other Federal and State Agencies that Regulate this Subject and the Process Coordinating the Rule with These Agencies: The health care authority holds the contract with the managed care organization (MCO) that implements WMIP services in Snohomish County. The contract, and therefore the program, will expire on June 30, 2014. ALTSA is coordinating with the HCA regarding the termination of this program.
Process for Developing New Rule: DSHS welcomes the public to take part in developing the rules. Anyone interested should contact the staff person identified below. At a later date, DSHS will file a proposal with the office of the code reviser with a notice of proposed rule making. A copy of the proposal will be sent to everyone on the mailing list and to anyone who requests a copy.
