Title: Policy 61.06, Industrial Insurance Coverage for Volunteers.
Date Issued: April 7, 2014.
Description: This policy is updated to add additional clarification and to reflect current practice. This policy is amended to recognize that for-profit businesses may have situations in which they have legitimate volunteers. These volunteers are not covered for industrial insurance, and the department does not offer coverage for them. The amended policy outlines specific criteria a business must meet to distinguish noncovered volunteers from covered workers.
