January – June 2015
The forest practices board's (FPB) mandate is to adopt rules to protect the state's public resources while maintaining a viable forest products industry. The following rule proposals are under development or are anticipated during this time period. There may be additional rule-making activity not on the agenda as conditions warrant.
1. Unstable Slopes Information on Forest Practices Applications. The board will consider rule adoption at their February meeting to clarify rules that additional geologic information conforms to appropriate technological and professional standards needed to help the department of natural resources (DNR) assess threats to public safety and appropriately classify forest practices applications.
2. Riparian Management Zone Clarification. The board may consider rule making to clarify rules in chapter 222-30 WAC related to riparian management zones.
