Title or Subject: Medicaid State Plan Amendment (SPA) 15-0039 Apple Health Managed Care.

Effective Date: On or after October 22, 2015.

Description: The health care authority in coordination with the department of social and health services intends to submit medicaid SPA 15-0039 in order to update the assignment process for apple health enrollees and clarify the procurement methodology used to obtain additional managed care organizations when necessary. SPA 15-0039 will also add information about the fully integrated managed care program that will be operationalized in southwest Washington in 2016 and statewide by 2020 and the voluntary enrollment process for children in the apple health foster care program that will begin January 1, 2016.

Because the fully integrated managed care program will be providing already covered services, just in a different format, this SPA is expected to have no effect on annual aggregate expenditures.
