PREPROPOSAL STATEMENT OF INQUIRY
BELLEVUE COLLEGE

Subject of Possible Rule Making: Weapons and fireworks.
Statutes Authorizing the Agency to Adopt Rules on this Subject: Chapter 34.05 RCW; and RCW 28B.50.140.
Reasons Why Rules on this Subject may be Needed and What They Might Accomplish: Bellevue College plans to codify its weapons and fireworks policy in the Washington Administrative Code.
Other Federal and State Agencies that Regulate this Subject and the Process Coordinating the Rule with These Agencies: This rule making will be in accordance with the following state and municipal rules: City of Bellevue – Fire Code: 23.11.5608.2 Fireworks Discharge Prohibited; RCW 9.41.010 Terms defined; and RCW 9.41.050 Carrying firearms.
Process for Developing New Rule: Changes to the existing policy on this topic will be presented to the campus community for feedback and a public meeting (via Zoom) will be held.
