INTERPRETIVE STATEMENT

This memo serves as notice that the department of health (department) is rescinding an interpretive statement titled "Approved Backflow Prevention Assemblies," filed January 12, 2001, and published as WSR 01-03-069.

This statement clarified when the department would accept backflow prevention assemblies from third parties other than the University of Southern California. The department is rescinding this policy due to the adopted changes to WAC 246-290-490 regarding cross-connection control. Consequently, this interpretive statement is no longer necessary.
