NOTICE
Title or Subject: Medicaid State Plan Amendment (SPA) 26-0005 Withdrawal Management Services Payments.
Effective Date: January 1, 2027.
Description: The health care authority (HCA) intends to submit SPA 26-0005 to add information regarding per diem payments to hospitals for acute inpatient withdrawal management services provided to postpartum people. For acute inpatient withdrawal management services provided to postpartum people with a diagnosis of drug or alcohol use complicating the puerperium (the six weeks following delivery when the body is returning to a prepregnancy state), a flat fee enhancement will be paid in addition to the standard hospital-specific withdrawal management services rate.
SPA 26-0005 is expected to increase annual aggregate expenditures/payments by $2.3 million.
