The Washington state department of commerce (commerce) received a notice of intent (NOI) on June 12, 2026, from the city of Vancouver, consistent with the Growth Management Act requirements within RCW 36.70A.840 Transit-oriented development. Commerce has assigned case #2026-C-444 for this request.

Vancouver's notice of intent contained a memorandum titled "Demonstration of Floor Area Ratio (FAR) Equivalency for Substantially Similar Determination of FAR Compliance with RCW 36.70A.840." Vancouver's 30-day NOI was accepted by commerce on June 30, 2026, which requested the following:


•	Under RCW 36.70A.840(18): Review of the city's request to demonstrate substantially similar compliance with transit-oriented development FAR requirements through alternative local development regulations.
