HB 1462-S.E - DIGEST

      Provides for an administrative hearing procedure to hear and dispose of petitions to have a dog declared a potentially dangerous dog or dangerous dog.

      Requires an owner or keeper of a dog found to be potentially dangerous or dangerous to comply with the provisions of RCW 16.08.080 through RCW 16.08.100.

      Authorizes the seizure of dogs found to pose an immediate threat to public safety, pending a hearing.

      Declares that a local ordinance may not restrict the transporting of a dog through the jurisdiction so long as the dog is safely confined.

      Declares that a local ordinance may not declare a breed of dog to be dangerous.
