HB 1483 - DIGEST

      Establishes procedures for the destruction of infested plants absent the consent of the owner.

      Provides a system for the exclusion of plant and bee pests and diseases.

      Provides for inspection and investigation to determine origin and nature of any pests and diseases.

      Delegates authority to adopt quarantine measures.

      Designates prohibited unlawful acts.

      Provides criminal and civil penalties for violations.

      Repeals provisions of chapter 17.24 RCW.

      Revises the provisions to safeguard the public from unsafe or misbranded food.

      Authorizes the suspension of a license to operate an establishment operating under conditions that allow adulteration of food.

      Repeals RCW 69.07.090 and 69.07.130.
