      Requires the development of a rating system to evaluate the levels of wildfire risk to areas located in the wildland/urban interface or intermix.

      Requires consultation with other governmental agencies and participation by the public prior to designating areas of high or extreme fire hazard.

      Directs the building code council to consider fire protection standards for high or extreme hazard risk level areas.

      Requires the counties to adopt an ordinance by January 1, 1994, to impose fire protection standards.
