     On page 4, after line 28, insert the following"

     "(3) This chapter does not apply to a business closure or employee layoff if the closure is of a temporary facility or the closure or layoff is the result of the completion of a particular project or undertaking, and the affected employees were hired with the understanding that their employment was limited to the duration of the facility or the duration of the project or undertaking."

EFFECT:  Adds an exemption from the state plant closure notice requirements for closures or layoffs that result from closure of a temporary facility or the completion of a particular project when the employees understood that their employment was limited in duration.
