     Renumber remaining sections consecutively and correct internal references accordingly

EFFECT: The provision is stricken which created a separate civil action to recover damages against a person who abuses an animal.  (Restitution and reasonable costs of the investigation can still be ordered in the sentence if the offender is convicted.  Owners of animals abused by an offender may bring any civil action available under existing tort liability laws.)
