     On page 39, beginning on line 12, after "legislature." strike the remainder of the subsection and insert "If, after the compensation and fringe benefit provisions of an agreement are approved by the legislature, a significant revenue shortfall occurs resulting in reduced appropriations, both parties shall immediately enter into collective bargaining for a mutually agreed upon modification of the agreement."

EFFECT:  Modifies the provision that makes salary increases subject to modification by the Legislature, by specifying that the parties will negotiate modifications of their agreement if a significant revenue shortfall results in reduced appropriations.
