On page 90, line 3 of the amendment, after "offenses." insert "As a mandatory condition of community supervision, the juvenile shall submit to searches of his or her person, vehicle, or residence by community supervision officers and other law enforcement officers, which searches shall not include body cavity searches or strip searches as defined by RCW 10.79.070. The court shall notify the juvenile of this requirement and the juvenile shall acknowledge in writing receipt of this notice."
On page 138, line 26 of the amendment, after "offenses." insert "As a mandatory condition of community supervision, the juvenile shall submit to searches of his or her person, vehicle, or residence by community supervision officers and other law enforcement officers, which searches shall not include body cavity searches or strip searches as defined by RCW 10.79.070. On page 163, line 24 of the amendment, after "offenses." insert "As a mandatory condition of parole, the juvenile shall submit to searches of his or her person, vehicle, or residence by community supervision officers and other law enforcement officers, which searches shall not include body cavity searches or strip searches as defined by RCW 10.79.070. The department shall notify the juvenile of this requirement and the juvenile shall acknowledge in writing receipt of this notice."
EFFECT: As a condition of community supervision or parole, juveniles must submit to searches of their person, vehicle, or residence by community supervision or other law enforcement officers. These searches may not include strip or body cavity searches. The court or department must notify the juvenile of this condition, and the juvenile must acknowledge the notification in writing.
