     On page 10, line 36, strike "1998" and insert "1996"

EFFECT:  Eliminates the two-year period (from July 1, 1995, through June 30, 1997) when no dollar value limitation is placed on the amount of annual MVET distributions to counties and cities for criminal justice purposes.  Thus, distributions for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1996, are limited to the amount distributed in the fiscal year ending June 30, 1995, adjusted by the implicit price deflator for the previous fiscal year.
