Signed by Senators Owen, Chairman; Erwin, Franklin, Haugen, Oke, Sellar, Snyder, and Spanel.
Staff: Vic Moon (786‑7469)

BACKGROUND:
The statutes reference the Cape Shoalwater light for purposes of setting fishing areas by the Department of Fisheries. The lighthouse has been torn down and a new tower has been constructed 400 yards to the west. A new reference must be used to set fishing area boundaries and this change will not make a major change in the fishing areas.
SUMMARY:
Reference to the Cape Shoalwater "light" is changed to "tower."
Appropriation: none
Revenue: none
Fiscal Note: none requested
TESTIMONY FOR:
A correction in statute is needed in order to set fishing areas.
