Concerning judicial proceedings for involuntary commitment or detention.

     AN ACT Relating to involuntary commitment or detention; and adding a new section to chapter 70.96A RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 70.96A RCW to read as follows:

     In a judicial proceeding for involuntary commitment or detention, or in a proceeding challenging a commitment or detention, the prosecuting attorney for the county in which the proceeding was initiated may represent the individuals and agencies petitioning for commitment or detention and defend challenges to a commitment or detention.
