Requiring insurance agents and brokers to report certain claims.

          AN ACT Relating to reporting requirements for insurance agents and brokers; and adding a new section to chapter 48.17 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 48.17 RCW to read as follows:

          Agents and brokers must annually report to the commissioner any error and omission claim filed against the agent or broker and the disposition of such claim.  In accordance with the standards provided under RCW 48.17.070, the commissioner may use such information in determining the general qualifications of an applicant seeking issuance or renewal of a license.
