Requiring school districts to notify parents of students carrying dangerous weapons at school.

          AN ACT Relating to students carrying dangerous weapons on school premises; and adding a new section to chapter 28A.600 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 28A.600 RCW to read as follows:

          By December 31, 1993, each school district board of directors shall adopt and implement a policy for notifying the parents or guardians of any student violating RCW 9.41.280.  The policy shall also require prompt notification of the local law enforcement agency.
