Requiring members of the house of representatives to cast own votes.

    AN ACT Relating to votes cast by members of the house of representatives; and adding a new section to chapter 44.04 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 44.04 RCW to read as follows:

    A member of the house of representatives may cast a vote only on the member's own behalf while voting on legislation on the floor or while casting an official vote within a legislative committee.  A member of the house of representatives may not cast a vote for another member if the vote is recorded.  The house of representatives may determine the sanctions for a violation of this section.
