Modifying the implementation date of the long-term care partnership program.

    AN ACT Relating to the long-term care partnership program; adding a new section to chapter 48.85 RCW; and declaring an emergency.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 48.85 RCW to read as follows:

    This chapter shall be implemented when the federal government:

    (1) Enacts legislation authorizing a state to disregard a portion of an individual's assets or resources in determining medicaid eligibility; or

    (2) Disregards the prohibition against a state excluding an individual's assets or resources in determining medicaid eligibility.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.  This act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety, or support of the state government and its existing public institutions, and shall take effect immediately.
