HB 1950 - DIGEST

     Requires that all registered vehicles not specifically exempted be required to carry automobile liability insurance provided through the Washington automobile insurance corporation.

     Requires the insurance to be provided without consideration of age, marital status, or sex in establishing rates.

     Designates the structure, powers, and duties of the Washington automobile insurance corporation.

     Makes insurance a condition for obtaining a permit or license.

     Requires annual reports to the legislature on the operation and status of the corporation.

     Makes an appropriation of three hundred million dollars to carry out the purposes of the act.

     Requires repayment by June 1, 2005.
