HB 2088 - DIGEST

     Creates the department of commerce and community development.

     Establishes the local economic development service program to coordinate the delivery of services to local communities or regional areas.

     Develops a targeted sectors program, a technical assistance and training program, and a local government grant program.

     Abolishes the department of community development and the department of trade and economic development and transfers the powers, duties, and functions to the new department.

     Repeals provisions of chapter 43.31 and 43.63A RCW.
