SB 6009-S.E - DIGEST

     Deletes the encouragement of tire recycling centers and storage.

     Creates a gross misdemeanor offense for improper disposal of tires.

     Extends the levy on the retail sale of tires to December 1, 1996.

     Requires license and identification sticker for persons transporting waste tires.

     Establishes standards for all tire storage activities.

     Requires recycling of waste tires as a priority, followed by energy recovery, incineration, or landfill.

     Requires approval of the act by a vote of the people at the next general election.
