    On page 2, after line 8, strike all material through "(4)" on line 34 and insert the following:

    "(2) No minor may be employed in occupations determined by department rule to be unreasonably hazardous.  In adopting rules under this subsection, the department shall not restrict employment beyond the restrictions of the occupation standards of the child labor provisions of the fair labor standards act (29 C.F.R. Part 570, Subpart C), as existing on January 1, 1994.

    (3)"

    On page 2, after line 35, insert the following:

    "NEW SECTION. Sec. 2.  A new section is added to chapter 49.12 RCW to read as follows:

    The governor, in consultation with the department, shall negotiate with the United States congress to obtain a statutory exemption from federal child labor statutes."

    Renumber the remaining sections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.
