     On page 19, beginning on line 28, after "12." strike all material through "supervisors." on line 34, and insert

     "(1) The office of financial management shall review the

staffing patterns of all corrections operations excluding correctional industries, and identify if management staff positions could be reduced and what percentage of reduction could safely be implemented for the purpose of cost efficiency. The office of financial management shall report on the results of their findings to the appropriate committees of the legislature by December 12, 1995."

EFFECT:  Removes the requirement that 20% of the Department of Corrections management staff be reduced.   Requires that the office of financial management review if management staff reductions could be safely implemented in the department of corrections. The office of financial management is required to report to appropriate committees of the legislature by December 12, 1995.
