     On page 1, beginning on line 28, strike all of Section 2

Renumber remaining sections, correct internal references, and correct the title accordingly.

     On page 4, beginning on line 28, strike all of Subsection 5

Renumber remaining subsections, correct internal references, and correct the title accordingly.

EFFECT:  Deletes provision that gives the State Board of Education general authority to adopt rules to implement the basic skills test for persons entering teacher preparation programs.  Also deletes the repeal of the current law governing the basic skills test.  With the amendment, current law governing the basic skills test would not be changed.
