     On page 2, line 23, after "assistance." insert the following:

     "As used herein, a 'fugitive from justice' includes persons charged with or convicted of felonies or gross misdemeanors under the criminal code of the state of Washington or under municipal or county codes, or is charged with or convicted of an offense in another state that would be punishable in the state of Washington as such, if such person has a current or unserved warrant of apprehension or arrest issued by a court of competent jurisdiction.

EFFECT:  Public assistance benefits are denied to individuals charged with or convicted of felonies and gross misdemeanors if there is a current or unserved arrest warrant.
