     On page 8, after line 37 of the House Amendment insert the following:

     "NEW SECTION. Sec. 206.  A new section is added to chapter 74.12 RCW to read as follows:

     (1)  The department shall establish a housing assistance program to provide either rental or mortgage assistance to:

     (a)   a caretaker who is incapacitated or needed in the home to care for a member of the household who is incapacitated; or    (b) a household receiving a child only grant.

     (2)  The department shall adopt rules to establish:

     (a) the maximum amount of monthly housing assistance available to caretakers or households under this program; and

     (b) the maximum term of housing assistance to the caretaker or household."

EFFECT:  Provides for housing assistance to incapacitated caretakers and households receiving child only grants under the aid to families with dependent children program.
