     On page 4, after line 34, insert:

     "NEW SECTION. Sec. 7.  (1) The electronic recording task force is established composed of seven persons as follows: (a) Two members shall be appointed by the president of the senate, one from each of the two caucasus; (b) two members shall be appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives, one from each of the two caucuses; and (c) three other persons appointed by the governor, one of whom is a county auditor, or a representative of a county auditor, and one of whom is a representative of title insurance companies.

     (2) The electronic recording task force shall study the electronic filing of documents with county auditors and submit recommendations to the legislature on or before December 1, 1996, for establishing safeguards when electronic records are filed with a county auditor.  The electronic recording task force shall cease to exist on March 1, 1997.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 8.  Sections 1 through 6 of this act shall take effect on June 1, 1997."

Correct the title accordingly.

EFFECT:  Creates a task force to study the electronic filing of records and make recommendations on or before December 1, 1996.  Delays the effect of the bill until June 1, 1997.
