    Reletter the remaining subsections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.

EFFECT:  Deletes language requiring the secretary of state to adopt rules for review of software used in creating digital signatures.

    On page 22, line 13 of the amendment, after "determination." insert "Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to obligate a person to accept a digital signature or to respond to an electronic message containing a digital signature."

EFFECT:  To clarify that the use of a digital signature is voluntary.
