    On page 7, line 5, after "employee" insert "or contractor"

EFFECT:  Assures that providers serving a resident under a private contract have whistleblower protection.

    On page 7, line 14, after "RCW or" insert "care provided in a boarding home or a veterans' home"

EFFECT:  Limits the effect of whistleblower protections provided in this section to boarding homes and veterans' homes.

    On page 7, line 15, after "RCW" insert "or other in-home provider"

EFFECT:  Expands whistleblower coverage to individually contracted providers.

    On page 7, line 21, strike "or of a consumer of hospice, home health, or home care services" and insert "who is a consumer of hospice, home health, home care services, or other in-home services"

EFFECT:  Removes employees of home health agencies, hospice agencies, or home care agencies from receiving whistleblower protections.

    On page 7, line 38, after "department" insert ", or the department of health,"

EFFECT:  Requires that the Department of Health and Department of Social and Health Services draft rules only for the providers and programs that they regulate.
