    On page 53, after line 9 of the amendment, insert the following:

    "NEW SECTION. Sec. 53.  The department of corrections shall report to the fiscal committees of the legislature on the efficacy of the regional support networks in implementing the provisions of this act.  Such report shall be submitted annually on or before September 30th and shall include information about the administrative expenses of the regional support networks."

    Renumber the following sections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.

EFFECT:  Requires the Department of Corrections to report on the efficacy of the Regional Support Networks in implementing the bill.

By Committee on Appropriations

    On page 53, after line 15 of the amendment, insert the following:

    "NEW SECTION. Sec. 55.  If specific funding for the purposes of this act, referencing this act by bill or chapter number, is not provided by June 30, 1998, in the omnibus appropriations act, this act is null and void."

EFFECT:  This bill is null and void unless funded in the budget.
