    On page 2, after line 15 strike all the material down to and including "state;" and insert:

    "(c) The individual passes a basic skills assessment in reading, writing, communications, and mathematics developed by the superintendent of public instruction for persons seeking alternative certification;

    (D) The individual passes an assessment of teaching knowledge developed by the superintendent of public instruction for persons seeking alternative certification.  The results of the assessment shall  be used by the school district to develop a written plan of assistance;"

    Renumber the remaining subsections consecutively and correct any internal references accordingly.

    On page 5, line 2, after "year" insert "or when the superintendent of public instruction has developed the assessments required under section 2 of this act, whichever is earlier.  The superintendent of public instruction shall develop the assessments as soon as funding is provided for their development."
