Authorizing counties that hold money in trust for school purposes to distribute the money to school districts. 


    AN ACT Relating to moneys held by a county in trust for school districts; adding a new section to chapter 36.01 RCW; and repealing an act for the protection of the Joshua Brown school fund on pages 219 through 223, Laws of 1875.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

 

    NEW SECTION.  Sec. 1.  A new section is added to chapter 36.01 RCW to read as follows:

    Any county authorized by territorial law to administer moneys held in trust for the benefit of school districts within the county, which moneys were bequeathed for such purposes by testamentary provision, may dissolve the trust and distribute any moneys remaining in the trust to school districts within the county, if the county legislative authority adopts a resolution finding that conditions have changed and it is no longer feasible for the county to administer the trust.

 

    NEW SECTION.  Sec. 2.  An act for the protection of the Joshua Brown school fund, pages 219 through 223, Laws of 1875, are each repealed.
