SB 5854 - DIGEST

     Declares that the intent of this act is to provide fire protection districts with the authority to seek voter approval by supermajority vote of a permanent fire protection district charge, subject to termination by the board of fire commissioners or revocation by the voters.  If such a permanent fire protection district charge is approved by the voters, the district may not impose any special or property tax levies during the period in which the permanent fire protection district charge is in effect.
