SB 6407 - DIGEST

     Directs the state board of education to provide for the implementation of one or more means of assessing the knowledge or abilities, or both, of all applicants for teaching certificates required by the state board under chapter 28A.410 RCW.

     Requires that, by December 1, 1999, and biennially thereafter, the state board of education shall prepare a report on the number and percentage of candidates who are successful in passing the assessments for certification required under this act.

     Repeals RCW 28A.410.020.
