Background:
Mr. Paul Luvera, Sr. dedicated his life to public service, the betterment of the city of Anacortes, and its citizens. During his tenure as a Washington State Senator, he secured funding for the construction of the segment of State Route 20 that stretches from the south end of Commercial Avenue in Anacortes to the Deception Pass/Whidbey Island Junction.
Summary of Bill:
This bill memorializes that Mr. Paul Luvera, Sr. spent a lifetime effort towards public service, the betterment of the city of Anacortes, and its citizens. It recognizes that Mr. Paul Luvera, Sr. while he was a Washington State Senator, was instrumental towards securing funding for the construction of the segment of State Route 20 that stretches from the south end of Commercial Avenue in Anacortes to the Deception Pass/Whidbey Island Junction.
The Washington State Transportation Commission is asked to commence proceedings to rename this segment of the road the "Paul Luvera, Sr. Memorial Highway."
Copies of this memorial are immediately transmitted to Sid Morrison, Secretary of Transportation, the Washington State Transportation Commission, and the Washington State Department of Transportation.
