WHEREAS, There are ninety-eight legislative assistants who are employed by the House of Representatives; and
WHEREAS, These legislative assistants are instrumental in facilitating the work and needs of the legislature; and
WHEREAS, Legislative assistants, on a daily basis, receive, sort, and prioritize four large mail deliveries, receive and answer twenty to fifty-plus hotline messages, meet with numerous lobbyists, track members' legislation, and perform various other tasks on an as-needed basis; and
WHEREAS, Legislative assistants work well under the pressures and time limits imposed upon them, and are able to assimilate and digest large quantities of information; and
WHEREAS, These dedicated individuals deserve recognition and thanks for the outstanding work they are doing for this state, for their communities, and for their legislators;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives do hereby honor legislative assistants on this day.
