HB 2894 - DIGEST

     Declares that a city, town, or state agency:  (1) May not ask for and obtain the social security number of any person;

     (2) may not keep the social security number of any person.  Any person's social security number that the city or town has in its possession on the effective date of this section must be destroyed; and

     (3) may not sell, give, or otherwise transfer the social security number of any person.

     Authorizes a city, town, or state agency to ask for and obtain the social security number of any person if it is required to do so by federal law.
