SB 5634 - DIGEST

     Provides that, beginning with the 1999-2000 school year, all school boards shall adopt a policy, in addition to any existing local policy, regarding promotion and retention of pupils at the following times:  (1) Between the third and fourth grades;

     (2) between the end of the intermediate grades and the beginning of middle school grades; and

     (3) between the end of middle school grades and the beginning of high school.
