SB 6109 - DIGEST

     Provides that the sum of three million dollars, or as much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the general fund to the superintendent of public instruction for the biennium ending June 30, 2001, for matching grants to enhance security in schools.

     Provides that the sum of two million five hundred thousand dollars, or as much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the general fund to the superintendent of public instruction for the biennium ending June 30, 2001, for school safety programs for prevention and intervention.

     Provides that the sum of one million dollars, or as much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the general fund to the superintendent of public instruction for the biennium ending June 30, 2001, for alternative school start-up grants.

     Provides that the sum of five hundred thousand dollars, or as much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the general fund to the superintendent of public instruction for the biennium ending June 30, 2001, for school safety plan grants.
